In 1987, we witnessed a revolution and saw the first visible Air unit. Originally created for speed and lightweight impact, the AM1 has become a standalone classic. Initially believed to be a “4/20” proposition, the shaggy green suede, “Dark Driftwood” mesh-covered sneaker is seemingly part of an Air Max collection celebrating the design and technology’s global appeal. As for its differences, the Air Max 1 forgoes the stash pocket, and includes a series of light tan panels across the mesh toe, leather quarter, and lining. Hits of Light Bordeaux on the Swoosh and woven tongue label add a subtle contrast, while a cream Air Max sole provides a neutral base.
